Protection for those making submissions
Waste Buster will handle any personal information it receives in accordance with the provisions of the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act and the Document Disposal Act.
You do not have to supply any personal information to make a suggestion; however, if you wish to receive a reply, you must provide at least an e-mail address. All personal information you choose to provide, including your e-mail address, your name or the personal information of others, will be forwarded to the ministry/agency that will respond to your submission.
Your submission, and any responses or progress reports arising from the submission, may be posted on the Website. The Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act requires government to keep personal information confidential. Your submission may be edited prior to being posted on the Website. All submissions will be handled according to standard government procedure. Threats and/or serious allegations may be investigated.
Protection for government employees
Waste Buster will comply with the provisions of the B.C. Employment Standards Act, which states that employees must not be mistreated in any way because of a complaint or investigation. Its goal is to make government more efficient and to stamp out waste. Its focus is on processes, not people.
Note: Waste Buster staff, like all British Columbia government staff, have a duty to report any situation they believe may contravene the law, misuse public funds or assets, or risk public health, safety or the environment.
