Waster Buster

How does Waste Buster work?

It’s as easy as 1-2-3.

  1. You submit an electronic form outlining your concerns and recommendations, with as much detail as possible. There will be an immediate automatic notice that your submission was received.

  2. Waste Buster checks the submission to ensure it meets the site’s purpose. If it does, we will forward the submission to the appropriate ministry, Crown corporation or government agency for investigation and action. The Waste Buster Program will not remove the submitter’s name, e-mail address or any other personal information before forwarding to the ministry/agency responsible.

  3. If you provided an e-mail address with your submission, within 30 days you will receive a progress update or final report on the action.
*Note: The response we provide is our final response to your submission.  Please do not try to reach us by return e-mail by using your "reply" command.  If you wish to communicate further with Waste Buster, you must fill in a new submission form.

If a submission is not within the scope of the Waste Buster mandate, we may suggest a more appropriate forum for the suggestion. Sometimes we advise that your suggestion be sent to another level of government; sometimes we pass it on to the appropriate ministry, not for response, but for consideration.

We do not normally accept complaints against individuals or organizations; however the submitter is advised of the appropriate way to file their complaint. For example, you may wish to contact MLAs, Cabinet ministers or the Premier by e-mail or paper mail, as in the past.

The Waste Buster Website also provides a hot link to the Ombudsman’s office, where you may complain if you feel a government ministry, Crown Corporation or other public body has treated you unfairly.
